It's official - the Lib Dems are back in business.

We've had huge gains across the country. Here in Breckland, our candidate Mark Foley got over five hundred votes in the Upper Wensum ward which we contested, gaining over 25% of the vote from a starting point of zero and bringing us our first district-wide increase in vote share since 2007. Across the local area, we also saw third party and independent candidates running strongly, showing a clear appetite for an alternative to the old two parties who showed lacklustre vote totals across the district. It's our mission to build up and ensure we break onto the council next time, as Josie Ratcliffe successfully did last night with a spectacular win in nearby Downham Market.

In May 2019 the Breckland Council elections take place. Would you like to be a Candidate for the Lib Dems? Our expectations are realistic; Breckland is a deep blue territory, and the party in Breckland is very new; we started just 12 months ago, BUT we would like voters to find a Libe Dem on their ballot papers in May 2019. Much of modern politics involves sitting at a desk and looking at a screen - running a website,, running social media, sending groups of emails, dealing with data about our members, and processing data about voter research in Breckland. If you have some IT expertise and enthusiasm and are happy to explore the systems we use then we'd like to hear from you. One member volunteered to help recently but family circumstance mean they can no longer do so, so we are searching again. Email me and we'll have a chat about it foley845@btinternet.com
