Back Josie Ratcliffe for South West Norfolk!

Our campaign in So Josie Ratcliffe, SW Norfolk Parliamentary Candidate, in Downham Markeyuth West Norfolk to unseat Liz Truss will be led by our candidate Josie Ratcliffe, a former lorry driver who won a stunning suprise election victory over the Conservatives earlier in 2019 to become the first Lib Dem councillor in West Norfolk district for some years. South West Norfolk, which includes the Breckland towns of Swaffham and Thetford as well as West Norfolk's Downham Market, has long been a Conservative held seat, but with deep unrest locally as farmers and small business owners turn against the government's catastrophic Brexit failures, and after the Lib Dems beat the Conservatives in the European elections earlier this year, that might be changing. Not only that, but Conservative incumbent Liz Truss has presided over a disgraceful regime of dodgy arms deals as trade secretary, breaking the law three times to allow illegal weapons sales to Saudi Arabia - prioritising authoritarian autocrats over peace and security. As a result, there's much to play for and Josie is ready to deliver.

As well as stopping Brexit, Josie is passionate about young people and education, having been a scout leader for 25 years, and will be a strong voice for tackling the climate emergency and protecting South West Norfolk's environment and biodiversity, from Thetford forest to the fens. She wants to fight for Lib Dem policies to give colleges and sixth forms funding parity with high schools, to extend the availability of childcare, and to create a new culture of lifelong learning with a massive funding boost for adult education, which will all help support people in Thetford, Swaffham, Downham Market, and our villages.

If you want A*s and a future for our kids, rather than arms deals and Brexit with the Conservatives' Liz Truss, back Josie and the Liberal Democrats to win South West Norfolk. Find out more about Josie's campaign here.
